Beresford, SD | Calmest cows and calves I’ve ever been around! Teddy Bears! The heifers will make a heck of a set of bred heifers for my friend, I took the strs.
2 stress tubs, a tub of 50/50 salt/mineral, second cutting grass (calf candy) is all for a couple days.
Was seeing zombies at 5am when I pulled in yesterday morning. Told my son he was unloading the truck! It was eyelid time for me. Caught up on rest, hammer down!
Last pic.....unreal. Dilapidated 3 story brick building east of Roundup, along an abandoned Rail line. In the middle of no-where! Shattered dreams of somebody.
Second pic, brand enforcement........felt like Mr Dutton was pulling up as we were stripping the calves.
3 loads of these calves Momma’s coming first week of December, as tame as they are it should be a great experience/opportunity for my 21 year old hired man! Praying for big snow and spring rains, or the pairs won’t be going back!
Alfalfa hay is $300/ton in the stack out there. The only hay to be seen anywhere is in the irrigated river valleys. The elevated pastures look like a brown putting “green!”
