| Since you have not received a reply, here is a spreadsheet I did roughly a year ago comparing basis contract, harvest sale, and storage. Important! Need to go through and check and/or change dates (prices too!) as this was done last year. Some formulas may have hard coded data to check. More columns could be added for different scenarios. Hopefully it gives an idea of what you need to consider. Basically I tried to compare prices received on a July 1st basis with appropriate interest added or subtracted. I did only use one interest rate assuming money would be borrowed or offset borrowed money. In the end it usually boils down to a bet on price direction.
