North Liberty and South Bend, Indiana		If you oversized your wire and/or breaker that wont affect your motor in any way and it will last until she finally gives up.
If you want look up NEC codes for motor circuits and I'd bet it says what I said I was told. Regardless of Purdues engineering department.
