| I regularly use a tree puller rather than a shear because I originally used it to reclaim CRP ground for cropping. I like the fact of not dealing with stumps but am sure it is slower than using a shear. Occasionally you can pull a tree apart, actually is easy to do on smaller trees(3 inch or less dia). Only place I don't like the puller is using it on willows in a waterway. Waterways tend to stay damp and you can leave too big of a hole by pulling the tree.
