 Pittsburg, Kansas | I think that the study that said deep banding K increased yields but there was no yield response to P is just about the opposite of what tests done in SE Ks show. Our soils tie up P particularly badly so banding it keeps it more available to the crop & therefore banded P increases yields for us.. Just goes to show that soils and the needed practices to properly manage them may be different for different areas of the country. John | |
