I have a Gehl 400 chopper. Has the electric knife sharpener. Just got done sharpening the knives. What is the proper way to set the shear bar? Book says to set it to .015" clearance with feeler gauge. Well you can't really get a feeler in there let alone your hand or see much. Especially with the electric knife sharpener rails in the way.
Is this like many old choppers where you adjust the shear bar until the knives "tick" when turning the knife drum by hand?
Is the shear bar reversible on a Gehl 400? Looks like if I take the two yoke bolts out, the shear bar should slide out?
