south central IL | I think the guys talking about it are saying that there’s no moisture in the bank to draw from to carry them through this predicted heat. I know hot and dry are just part of summer but when you’re extremely dry before it hits it’s like adding insult to injury. Some got a rain to keep it going but a lot didn’t get so lucky. Soil types also play into it. Having a good looking crop with minimal moisture and a dry and hot forecast is nerve wracking just like getting way too much rain and seeing a good stand get flooded out. | |
