And I'm aware that the 60 days following 2014 silking were particularly excellent for grain fill in Illinois- although some of that crop I saw from the windshield probably would have benefited from a little more nitrogen still being available to finish. I'm also aware that a big chunk of Iowa had more rain that June and most certainly did not recover to produce nearly the same yields as their next 3-4 crops did without being stunted early. All bets are off since I don't have a crystal ball, but my post in this thread really was just to illustrate what people looking through their windows are seeing differently in sometimes a quite short distance. |
