My favorite time of year is fungicide time. Better than test weight time. I’ve still never made it pay here other than conventional corn. Biggest thing it does there is standability and lots of times it’s just breakeven but worth it to harvest corn that’s standing strong. My favorite conversation ever with a neighbor was 3 years ago. We share a field border, no fenceline, just corn. He’s telling me how good his fungicide mix was, did 40 bpa over his test strips. Told me his yield. Laughed inside knowing my yield was the same and I did nothing to the corn after about June 7th doing my post spray pass for weed control. Some friends swear by it, adds huge bushels, all that. Maybe it does for them, we must have different ground or different hybrids or weather or something. All I know is when the yield reports and yield contest info comes in every winter I’m not crying I didn’t spray it
