Best I can tell enrollment at the local high school is up 10% over 40 years ago when I graduated. What is most disturbing is the amount of support staff. Forty years ago we had 1 guidance counselor and I don't remember her doing that much. Today the guidance department consists of 4 counselors, an administrative assistant, a social worker, a community school liaison, and a pupil personnel worker. In my time there was a principal and vice principal. Now there is a principal and two assistant principals. As tax payers we are paying for this bloat and not getting results.
