I've always been an ag leader guy....they have had reliable products that got the job done for a reasonable price. My concern now is they don't seem to be leading any more. They have been incredibly late to the game with row guidance, nozzle control, and implement guidance. Like a decade late. I'm concerned they may continue to fall behind and lose market share and then fall farther behind. See and spray technology is the future....and may be the thing that gets me to jump ship at some point.
All that to say....take into consideration not just your planter but what the future holds for your precision needs.
VERY VERY Good points!
Not to say that AL is bad or inferior, but as things move at the speed of light even in agriculture and technology is so pervasive, one must ask which product will be kept more up to date and the frequency of this.
PP is owned by AGCO and as AGCO makes so much equipment that needs technology, my bet is that it will be faster and more assiduous in this task than AL. I know it's a crapshoot, hard to bet on the odds.
