Coles County, Illinois
I pull out of a tiny pond fed by a 20" and a 24" tile. My well water has 120 ppm iron and the tile stuff did not indicate dissolved solids with test strips. Sure is handier than hauling 1100 gallons at a time from the city. The only thing I have to do sometimes is dump a cup of copper sulfate in it. Most of the time the water is crystal clear. Where I pull is 5' deep. I have a Banjo Basket with 2' rope to a 2 1/2 gallon empty sealed jug and a 2' rope tied to a 2 1/2# weight. The weight pulls the basket underwater and the jug pulls the basket up off the bottom. I also have a 20' rope connected to the jug so I can keep it away from the bank. I pump directly into my sprayer but mix chemicals away from the creek. I have a sprayer mounted eductor plumbed into the system.

P.S. Been doing this for over 10 years and my chemicals work.
