United States | We don't seed a ton of alfalfa, but we're having trouble getting an even stand. We typically have the co-op mix in alfalfa with the fertilizer. They used to use an airboom spreader which worked pretty well. They got rid of that, and went to spinners, and I end up with strips of poor stands most times.
I have an ATV spreader that I have used, but that's not accurate for rates or pattern, even with having tried using a lightbar to keep on line. I've got a grain drill, but it doesn't have a small seed box, so I don't think I could get it to apply correctly.
Ideally something like a brillion seeder or a small seed drill would be nice, but I'm on a budget since I don't do more than 10 acres or so a year. | |
