I would describe the reaction to his comments as overblown. Trump says a lot of stuff that isn't worth paying attention to.
I would not call Chinese ownership of real estate in the US a "non issue". Obama should have NEVER let the Chinese buy Smithfield or any other US real estate.
Reality is were importing $400 billion of their crap every year and some way some how they are going to want to buy something of value with those dollars that are losing value due to inflation. Its really quite sad, were trading valuable US assets and getting mostly junk in return.
