I’d bet those wealthy people running the trucking industry you are taking about lobbied the government for access to cheap labour. I’d also bet that those owner/operators weren’t as easy to control as those cheap hired drivers are. I’d bet those big companies used their resources to develop the industry into one that is much more easy for them to control. Independent operators are not as easy to control.
What you are describing is those extremely wealthy people taking the fruits of labour from those actually working. That money is then used to further their efforts by lobbying or whatever means necessary to gain even more control.
You seem to be arguing for the sake of arguing as we are talking about basically the same thing. Lol
