Subject: Why "it`s" impossible to fix

Those with money want lower taxes, those without money don`t want to cut government spending. Then there`s a hybrid of those with money who`s money depends on government spending. Take social security, when I was a young man, I wanted means testing. I saw older rich farmers collecting social security and thought treat social security as a flat quasi welfare program. Now, I`m a handful of years from collecting, I developed their mindset of "I`m X months from collecting my money!" . So, Im guilty like everyone else and I wonder about the next bridge payment and ARC check like everyone else. And I complain about income, property, sales taxes like every one else.

Rich people do the math and leave high tax states, in favor of low/no tax states (they`re not stupid) If the federal government tax gets too high, they`ll leave the country. This is the frame of the problem, then add politicians are bought off by campaign donors and if a good one does get in, they`re up for re-election every 2,4 or 6 years (if they aren`t impeached first) . So, ultimately things have to hit rock bottom, mainly to adjust everyone`s mindset, even then people have short memories, but when the punchbowl goes empty then do we go austerity or the communist forced austerity? Time`ll tell.
