Gearclash - 5/22/2026 I have come to see inflation as a way of somewhat leveling the playing field between the haves and have nots. Inflation helps keep the fat cats from sitting on large amounts of cash rather than investing it and in doing so keeping others employed. .
I think this is exactly backwards. Inflation encourages the "haves" to buy and hold assets. Why do you think "Private equity" is now "investing" in residential real estate? Why has the value of the 1% skyrocketed over the rest?
In a low or no inflation economy, you would have to employ people, make stuff, be productive in order to make money. In a high inflation economy all you have to do is own stuff.
