Arc-County Payments are based on market-year average price and county yield compared to the 5 year Olympic average.

Price component is the same for everyone, so the 2025 market year price is for year before the 2025 fall crop and the year after the crop, so 75% of that 24-month average price is known and we all know it wasn’t stellar so far.

Some parts of the corn belt have been on a yield tear and so a reversion to more historical yields and a lower price leads to a payment.

Some places like Southern IL started planting last year with 5’ tall weeds around June 5-10.  So yields were just lower than the county trend.
