S Illinois		True but not sure how comparable 83 is as the planting season has been completely different for most. Additionally 80 or 83 type summers will hit differently where plowing and cultivating was common and hybrids were much less resilient to heat at tasseling.


Edit: In S IL last year wasn’t much different than 1983 save for the extreme heat. But planting season was about as late as it get and it concluded with an Aug where it didn’t rain. While nothing to write home about it wasn’t a disaster where crops didn’t get harvested.
