west-byGod-Pa. | There are no Federal laws specific to auctioneering that I know of-other than fraud perpetrated across state lines.
I do know that Pennsylvania has licensing and regulations controlling auctioneering. I also do know that “ some” auctioneers are not above using someone to “ bid-up” on a bidder-had it happen to me( farm equipment). I also watched collusion to “ bid-up” on a young used car dealer: he caught the auction house in the act, but unless the state has an official on-site to witness the action it becomes a “ he said/he said” deal. Auction houses know precisely what they can get away with-“ IF” they are so minded. | |
