Macon, IL | Who are we to tell anyone else what to do with their land. If someone wants to pay them 50k and acre and they take it-thats their business.
How many times have we heard it argued here that we should be able to put up a dairy or hog building on our farm because its my land?
I wouldn't want a data center or solar field or wind farm in my backyard-but I don't own that land so....
I would also rather have the data centers here in US and have us own the future than have them all in China and we are beholden to them like we are now to taiwan for chips.
You can add up all the solar and data centers in the entire country and in terms of acres its not going to be enough acres to even tickle the needle on national production. If it didn't wouldn't that be good in terms of proce? Our production history is increasing output faster than they will ever be able to take. It may no seem like it when its the farm next to you-but really its small compared even to simple urban sprawl.
