One paragraph says cat cracking and alky units remove hydrogen, next paragraph say they require hydrogen.
Neither is true. I spent a lot of years around those processes
You also cannot just take heavy gas oil and make diesel. It needs to be cracked.
But yes they do make operating adjustments to all units to maximize whatever product has the most profit, and that gets looked at daily
