I read nationwide 44% of the US corn crop is used for ethanol and that solar is 100-125x more efficient.

Not cheap to put up solar and not cheap to grow corn. Difference is solar is a one time cost, kinda like you just plant once and then rely on the sun. Corn has to be planted every year and the costs to plant etc are incurred every year to infinity. .kinda like mining coal…no coal no energy.

Btw they use a 24% utilization rate on solar. So 6 hours per day. In computing the 100-125x efficiency calc.

Anyone having a chance at renewables should make sure they have the real facts….theres alot of misinformation out their and like ethonal big oil has a strategic structured campaign against renewable energy…..cause it bites into their profit streams.

However some providers are diversifying the energy generate to include renewables…Duke


Are farmers going to continue to pad the pockets of the fossil fuel companies…..or compete against them with renewables?
