Subject: Hail damage on soybeans DAMN expecting 95 Bu+

Holland, Indiana (SW IN)
Our best farm a little less than 500 acres tillable Planted April 8 @ 120K in 30" rows 3.5 maturity

Been doing some stand counts ---POSSIBLY 50K left neighbor said gulf ball sized hail covered the ground
I'm a farmer will get the experts opinion and the CI adjustor's opinion next week
Hard to be a farmer and look at a green stub of a bean plant and expect it to live

the facts paid up for extra replant and early plant insurance --
-haven't checked yet but $75-80 payment ---free replant seed
planter 24 row will need most every ground engaging part replaced before next year
Probably will sneak through planting 500 acres with out much repairs
500 acres X $75 = $37K cost $10 an acre to replant --so net out $30K

My question "seems simple answer to replant" will we decrease yield by planting a 3.2 maturity between the rows and turning on the ends

We have left 40K stands and made over 100 Bu/Ac field over "Irrigated" --will be 5/9 or later before dry enough to stick some seed in--will be muddy

Thought it was our dream year to average 90 B/A --finished planting 4-15
Advice appreciated, critique expected and OK

Dan

Add I was PO'd taking the 2 posted pics stand probably better than the pics --but if you look hard can see the stubs
