NW IA | I had orchard grass and meadow brome in the seed mix. Last year was new seeding and I saw very little evidence of grass last fall.
My small square bale customers have always been very pleased with the alfalfa orchard grass mix. I've had a hard time getting it established for the last 3 years, this looks hopeful. I thought a little brome might help out with drying beyond what the orchard grass will do. May not be as palatable as the orchard? I know it won't contribute much after the first cutting.
