Broadcast planting of course, isn't as precise. Usually, out of a kind of "fear" that it will be too sparse, it ends up a bit too dense.
I aim for 100 kg per hectare. It has its drawbacks, but also advantages. One of the advantages of the broadcast method with a slightly higher pop is that the lower pods are quite high off the ground. There are no side branches lying on the soil, so every bean gets harvested even with a standard combine header. | |
