Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska		I plant a little later than most of my neighbors… but they’re coming around. LOL.
Last year was a prime example. Early to mid May planted corn went the trip about the 3rd week of July. My June planted corn was still smaller. Easily 50-100 bushel better for the later planted corn. Course, we had some timely rain in August but that late corn can hang around for rain better in August than July.
I really want to do a trial of planting the same variety in the same field at 3 different times. Especially for RMA that won’t move their insurance dates back.
I’d like to plant May 1, May 20, June 10. I think it would be revealing.
