Malta, Illinois | The only reason corn and bean prices are as high as they are now is because of the war and how commodities track energy. Supplies are more than ample even with high demand for corn. South America is starting to dump a record bean crop onto the market and demand is so so. Funds have some very large long positions in corn and beans. If the war ends or shows signs of an end funds will bail in a pretty big way. These prices are a gift for now. A wet spring and or a dry summer are the only hope for higher prices if the war ends soon. | |
