Back in the 60's we had a beef herd, and just 2 milk cows, both brown swiss.
One was named Huntley the other Brinkley....I remember one often had twins.
When the first one died, the second one did also, within a short time.
I got to milk them by hand.  How many farm kids get to do that today.
