East of Broken Bow
I've got a couple cows that I absolutely guarantee will not let you go anywhere near enough to let you touch them that I'd trade even up for a couple of those 'pets'.

ETA: Right now in our heifer pen is my daughters 'pet' 4-H calf she raised on a bottle. Can walk up to her and scratch her ears. My daughter can't hardly get her to move, but I can. If you have cows as tame as pets, it doesn't take long to train them to go where you want them to. Just need a way for them to figure you you are chasing them. What I find works really well is to have a call when I want them to come to me. I holler Here, BOSS, or come, BOSS when I want them to come to me. Usually they get a treat when they do, whether it be some cubes, or an open gate to new pasture or whatever. However, they are trained not to mob me. They come towards me, when they get so close they get a few cubes on the ground.

When I want the cows to move away from me, I hollter 'giddy YUP, giddy YUP' and they know they are being 'chased' and will move away from me (usually at a liesurely walk). If you can get your cows trained to come towards you, or walk away from you depending on what call you use, you cattle moving goes much, much easier. I can move my 50 cows, myself, from one paddock to another by myself in probably half the time my neighbor does, with 3 people on ATVs.
