NE ND | As others have said it’s built into the cost already whether you know it or not. If breaking even or losing money on those 2 acres takes the profit out of the rest then you should give it up or have a talk with the owner. Otherwise let it be.
We farm a 1/4 for decades that has 10 acres at one end that we never get a crop off of. Rest of the rent is reasonable so it’s just figured into the whole thing. Most years we don’t even get it planted cause it’s so wet. Last year he came to me and said he put those 10 acres in CRP. He gets the same money, I don’t lose money, win win. But I never went and complained about it. | |
