Alberta | Lots of reasons, we have had them in larger pastures also. Are cows cycling? Fighting? Crowded bunk space, Calves laying by bunks? As was mentioned cows could be riled up over coyotes and something gets stepped on. I would chalk it up to Mr. Murphy. Be thankful it only a leg. I lose more calves to stomachs being stepped on than I ever have broken legs. | |
