I support it and use it because at this time we need to use up surplus corn.
When the government made the big push for it back in the early 2,000’s the thought was ethanol could be needed for national security if we were ever shut off from mideast oil. Since then we have found more oil here in the US so we’re not quite as reliant on other nations for oil now. But I think it is still a way we can prolong our oil supply by blending in ethanol.
So what happens when the surplus goes away? Switch back to E10?
When the surplus is gone, prices will rise, acres will rise, and then prices will fall and e20 will be the topic of the day. |
