| I sure liked all my red roans and blue roans I've owned over the years. Most memorable was a blue we called Blue Duck from the Lonesome Dove movie series. He could be a counterfeit SOB, could untie himself from a hitching rail or trailer. Shy at any shadow, even when older. He could pull like a freight train, but would buffalo any roung riders trying to rope off him like he couldn't pull. But everyone wanted to buy him for the color. I just couldn't do that to someone else. We let him stay on ranch until he passed away here. He sure taught my sons to never trust a older horse to not buck. He could sense if you was doping around riding, he would dump your butt. | |
