Ne Colorado | We aren’t too far south of the fire in Nebraska. About an hour and a half. Normally, when we have a big fire here in the sandhills, the following year is normally really good grazing. As long as the wind doesn’t burry the grass(key factor) Something about that ash gives the grass a jump. It does help to knock the sagebrush back. Thankfully, not many cattle were lost. Most still have cattle close to home and are still calving. One of the many bad parts of this fire is all the 50+ year old fence is going to need replaced. So if you’re looking to build a fence in 2026 or 27 I would buy posts and wire now.
