Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana | I can't answer the question.
Years ago, I always pulled a hopper wagon behind a grain truck. I had always licensed the wagon as "special machinery."
Well, the first time I went to the big city license bureau, after our local one was deemed not efficient. I was told they could not plate it as special machinery.
One of them asked if it was a hay wagon. I said no, it's a hopper wagon ........they had no idea what that was. But they said if you could haul hay in it, then they could do a wagon plate.
I said it will be hard to unload, but I can haul hay in it.
I got a hay wagon plate. Funny thing is, I don't remember how much, but it was cheaper than the plate I wanted.
