Well currently to my knowledge a lot of the data centers are taken up with Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Apple. So, at this current rate yes, we need more data centers. The big question is how many and how fast? We are losing this race with China right now. Right now, we have a race to space again to get on the moon and beyond. Why because you have to beat China there and maybe Russia? Bottom line in order to protect our country we have to beat them to space.

So why do we need to be in space? It's because the technology we develop to get there will be used for future generations of our people. Just sit back and think of the race to build a Transcontinental Railroad across our county, how long was it used? It's still in use today. What was laid next to that rail line? It was a telecommunications line during the cold war to link our country together. It was pulled out in the 90's in my area. Then what came next? It was fiber where the phone lines ran. Then what came next paralleling that rail to some extent? It was a massive natural gas line from Wyo. to the west coast in my area. That line was funded by the government in the mid 2000's here. Government ran over our land to put in on there, kept it off federal land as much as they could to keep from getting litigated from environmental groups. Paying them off to not litigate them.

Fast forward today, investors are beating my door down to sell to data center build. Because we have gas on our land and water, and no population round the area. Only alkaline salt ground and greasewoods, sage. So, are they going to build? I'm betting yes because government funded the gas line. They got to get payback. If you want to get something done in this country it has to be the movers and shakers to build the infrastructure. Government would botch it big time. So just think everything we enjoy in this country, at least our play goods or improvements have come about because of space exploration.

Look at computers, cell phones, autos, you name it. It has come about because in the early 90's for every dollar we spent in space it returned forty-five dollars on our investment to get to space. Think about the adhesives, computer chips, technology, etc. that came from that race to space. Things 99% of the people just take for granted in everyday life. Just look at Musk's satellites floating around so you can enjoy all the amenities of life, phones, T.V. etc. Is there going to losers and winners in this race? You bet there is, those late to the party are going to fail. Just history repeating itself.

So, let's talk about water use. I get tired of educated people saying they are using water up. Do they truly know the life cycle of water? I think we need to send them back to grade school to learn it. We can use a stream of water to generate power, then use same steam to float cargo ships to take consumables to ports. Then we can take some of that water for culinary use, to water crops & livestock, raise fish. Then turn that water back into the ground to be filtered and pumped back on the land or flow in a different location. We might relocate that water, but it doesn't leave the planet. Data centers can be built to share this water for cooling, then returned to the land for another use. Talking of closed loop systems for cooling now. That would be the water not leaving the system and not following the life cycle of water.

I'm just racking my brain tonight and for many nights before I've asked the question; what's coming next in technology break through? I would never dreamed you would have to have GPS on a tractor to run it 45 years ago. Today we have a population that can't drive a tractor unless it has air conditioning and GPS. It gets parked if broken. Well, I better give it up I'm tired of thinking about this.
