It is powerful stuff.
A number of years before another tree closer to road was hit and it jumped from a lower limb and split a cedar fence post.

Interesting that in both of those hits we had no damage other than the trees and the post but twice had power surges from lightning that did burn things out in the electrical system.
One of those cases I got a shock as I was hooking up a battery charger when it hit and it burned out lightbulbs etc. but battery charger survived.
