100 miles north of the NYC crapper | The middle finger on my left hand had an altercation with a wood bandsaw when I was in 8th grade. I went to the teacher basically flipping him off informing him.
It only required stitches and made a full recovery. My left hand has been accident prone my whole life.
I got the same finger bit again by a sickle on a chopper corn head. I didn’t realize the knives kept going when the head was out of gear.
Was still intact until I finally circumsized it setting the shear on the chopper when rolling the knives backward and got it caught taking the tip clean off. Then a few years later got my index finger shortened while changing the reach on a wagon gear with “help” from a couple English challenged helpers. Stuck my finger in the bolt hole to see if it was close. The didn’t understand stop. Note to self: don’t use finger for a drift pin!!
