North Central US | How many stacks or loaves did you put up before or still put up?
Here from the days of homesteading to when the Vermeer F came out, hay stacks or loaves were the only way to make hay. Very few had a square baler and they usually only made a very small amount, basically enough to fill a small stall in a horse or calving barn.
This place started out with bunch rakes and the big rake bucket on the Farmhand loader, then went to the Haybuster style stacker and Hesston loafers. About the time I came around Vermeer had figured out the round baler and we bought an F and after using that, stacks went on their way. | |
