| I am far from an engine expert but the engines in combines seem to all run at high RPM and also seem to be in need of rebuild at far fewer hours. The 8.3 in my tractor runs smoother at 1800 RPM when doing tillage but it is not pulling it’s guts out either and I would think is more fuel efficient and will last longer than running it at a higher RPM’s just because. | |
