Minnesota
I am terrible at planting straight....even following along the fence. I got tired of my messes, so I bought a harness to put the GPS system on my ATV. Ag Express makes a cable to use your pro700 and receiver without a tractor. My first iteration was to measure out 1/2 the planter width from the field edge and record an AB line (or curve) for each side of the field....then save those to use next year. That worked fine, but was kind of annoying to change lines in all the time.

Two years ago, I spent the time to record accurate boundaries for all of my fields with the ATV. If you do this, make sure that you have the correct offset for your vehicle and where you want your boundary. With the pro700, you can make swaths from the boundary -- it's called the fieldswath function and it works reasonably well.

This of course all works best if you have repeatable GPS....like RTK. We use MNCORS, which has worked will. There is no cost to use MNCORS, but you have to have an RTK unlock on your receiver.
