east central ND | It looks like this is the last year the irs will allow you to send them a check to pay taxes. I’m told you will have to set up an account at the IRS to send them money. With the poor mail service, I can see where this might be better than mailing a payment. But I have a bad feeling about direct payment from my bank account to the government.
Anyone set up a separate bank account to pay the “direct electronic payments”? I was thinking a dedicated account to pay any electronic payments might be worthwhile? I’d hate to have a scammer or crook gain access to my primary checkbook. Not that there’s much in it ….. but…….
I’m sure many on here already do electronic payments for withholding, etc.
I’m not the best on the computer, then I’m thinking of the hassle my 85 year old folks are going to have, ooooffff.
Edit: yes, I realize the USDA has my account info to gift me $$$, but the IRS?? Come on, the IRS??
