I just sent an email to WI corn growers
I will post their response if they send me one.

We’re not fighting big oil we’re explaining to manufacturer’s what we would like to purchase.

If all of this is hopeless then why so I pay check off dollars which I do and have never complained about. With all the talk of needing to tighten our business belts I’m asking an honest question, why should I continue paying the checkoffs if we are going backwards convincing manufacturers to continue producing vehicles that consumers can use to purchase the product we produce?

Don't take anything in my post as anti-Corn Growers or the check off.

I use ethanol. I think everyone should. I can't figure out why they wouldn't.

HOWEVER- and I usually don't support auto companies much, they were up against a wall via the CAFE standards in this case. I don't think it was a "big" deal to make anything flex fuel ready during production, but is was "another" thing that had to happen. Americans keep buying big heavy gas loving vehicles, that weighs on they're ability to meet those standard's. People complain about the price for a new pick up or Suburban or any other larger vehicle- but they keep buying them. And I'm just as guilty as anyone else for that.

It appears that the current administration has made a point to address the previous CAFE standards. Theres the hole in the wall that maybe Corn Lobbyist can get through to change things. https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/12/fact-sheet-president-...
