I have been doing them in corn and beans for the past many years.

You just have to be aware of the risks and become comfortable with the risks but they can be a great tool. Highest priced corn I sold this past crop was from a couple accumulators I had. One was $5.00 and another $4.90. Add basis to those and we were at $5.25 and 5.15.

Yes in volatile markets you can get caught(we have some created in 2020 double up at a lower price in 21)but you can also do an accumulator when the market is very high into the next year. If you use them every year for say 10% of your production I believe they are a great tool. If you try to pick and choose it may be harder to do as well.

I already have $5 and $4.95 working for this fall on corn and $11.90 on beans and remember you put basis on that as well…….is it a good price? I’ll let you know but I bet I’ll wish I had more.
