Long term strategy in options, well many times, you call the market direction correctly and get your premium back! I don't have any way of knowing for sure, I have read that 85% of options expire worthless. Not saying there wasn't more that were valuable at one time, but just leaving them ride is not the best strategy. In grains, buy the May contracts for now. If the premium doubles, take profit. Look to move forward with a July contract then. Maybe could still stay with the May for a while even. Nothing wrong with harvesting some of that time deterioration by selling options. If you're bullish to the market, sell puts. The option premium will not be as volatile as the futures (underlying) price movements. You don't have to own the option until expiration.
