NW Ohio | Crop insurance subsidies are market distorting. People make planting decisions based on insurance guarantees. I’ve bought crop insurance every year since the 90’s. For a long time the subsidy is roughly 2/3 of the actual premium, I pay 1/3. No where else on earth could I guarantee so much revenue with so little premium. So I buy it. It’s the rules that are set up, we just play by them.
