| Bitcoin has genuine, long-term value as a form of digital gold. It has a strictly limited supply of 21 million coins, operates on the most secure and decentralized network in cryptocurrency (unbroken for over 17 years), and is increasingly adopted by institutions, corporations, and even some governments as a reserve asset.
Most alternative cryptocurrencies "copycats" lack this independent foundation. They often rely on hype, borrowed features, or speculation tied to Bitcoin's performance—rising sharply when Bitcoin rallies, but falling much harder during downturns. A few, like Ethereum, provide real utility. Smart contracts, decentralization etc.
