| We farm a short stretch of former railroad next to land we had. We reclaimed it maybe 10 years ago. The rails, ties and a lot of the rock had been sold off and removed. The topsoil on either side was nice black dirt, was maybe 100' wide altogether. There was a ditch along the track, so I used an excavator, dug the ditch deeper, then pushed the remainder of the rail bed into it and covered and leveled everything up.
