SE PA | I've regretted not taking the time to talk to people that stop, especially friends or neighbors, far more than I've regretted the work that I didn't get done in that time.
Older gentlemen that was one of the boys we bought the farm from used to stop a couple times a year. Sometimes at a convient time sometimes not. Always took time to talk to him because I knew someday he won't. He passed away last fall.
Salesman don't usually stop here.
Dad tells a story that a salesmen stopped by to see his dad and he told him he had to go feed the heifers, but if he wanted to come along he could talk while he did that. At that time we had heifers on a farm almost an hour away so he went there to feed them. Salesmen probably thought it was gonna be a quick trip. | |
